All Dogs Go To Heaven

I know this photo is painful for Mark to see because it was taken just before Sam went to the vets to have a long sleep. Hopefully having scrapbooked it, he will be able to look back in years to come with happier memories!!



I made this LO for the May colour challenge on Scrabook.com. The rules were a black or white background a B&W photo and more than 5 colours.

The title is taken from one of Georgias films, and I really enjoyed actually using my ribbons for something other than just covering rings on mini-books!!!

Golden rule.......

.....never put a red head in an orange top or they will look like a carrot!!!





It doesn't matter what colour top my son wears he still looks gorgeous!!!!!

Altered Bingo Board

I have made this for Sarahs birthday, which as is typical of me as it was a few days ago!!! And it has to get to Australia so maybe it will get there in time for Xmas!!



The board was about £2.00 and I painted it with black gesso, then pasted and sealed the papers with mod podge glue. I really wanted it to be prettier than this but flowers didn't seem to work and would get squashed by the photos so I have left it plain in the hope it is covered with photos and added to over the years!

White space and doodling

I had run out of photos to scrap and was browsing through a pile on the side when I came accross this one, it being smaller than I usually scrap with I decided to have a go at doing a white space page!


For some reason the Lo instantly popped into my head and I started straight away by making my own photo mount and matted it. Then the next day when Ben was asleep i carefully stamped the words with Making Memories foam stamps and pigment ink, I normally use paint but didn't have any red in the house!! WARNING although the ink dries it does smudge at the slightest hint of moisture!! I happened to lean my left hand on it and the sweat has caused marks, but I wasn't going to start again!

The black and white border is made by using a marker pen and putting stipes along the edge of a peice of 12x12 and then cutting random widths from the sheet. I then simply cut an inch off the white paper and mounted it on black so the stripes would show up!


The doodling was helped by using a stencil that came from scrapbook inspirations but I wanted some smaller flower heads so i drew onw then cut it out smaller and traced around the edge, the dots were addittional to create movement and I just liked the Basic Grey Rub-On.

Georgia and Milly are cousins and I have always noticed how they both have the same cheeks. This photo was taken especially to capture their likeness so I am pleased I have scrapped it so soon after taking it.

101 ways to use Acetate

This photo is of Georgia in her school nativity play. She was an angel. I lost all of my photos so had to order this one from the local newspaper!!
I wanted to make it on clear acetate but you can't buy it so I had to choose one with a title already printed on it.

I filled in the word LOVE with stickles and painted the dots with a Sakura Pen. To create a matching number 2 I used a stencil and a black marker pen to get the outline,then again stickles and white dots.




The flower is an idea taken from www.scrapperlicious.blogspot.com/ this womans work is mindblowing!!!!
I cut the petals and dotted around them, poked a hole through the end of each and a brad through the middle and voila!! Very easy and effective!




TIP OF THE MONTH!! When ruffling ribbon to put on a LO attach it to a piece of double sided tape stuck onto a strip of acetate, then you can move it around the LO to get it right and you can't make a mistake, once you have figured out where it looks best simply add another piece of double sided to the bottom of the acetate and peel both ends slightly, position on LO and pull the ends back!

I went to Venture today for our viewing!!! It was such an amazing experience...the photos looked incredible!!!I just love how they make you look washed out yet vibrant at the same time. Mark and I even looked skinny in one!! It was so hard to only choose one, because I mean how often do you really go to all that effort to do a family portrait?

In one I was kissing Ben and my skin looked flawless, in another Mark was laughing so hard I have never seen him look like he's having such fun, and a really cute one of Ben looking over Maks shoulder....
..oh and the one where Mark and I are looking into each others eyes!!

But in the end I hurriedly chose all four of us with Georgia in the middle kissing Ben.

If I won the lottery I'd have them all put into one of those bound books that they do!!

Anyway I wondered if I could recreate that type of photo at home on my simple programme with a cool shot that I took yesterday under the blossom tree, and here are the results!!





Not quite up to venture standards but I like them! Does anyone know how to get them printed onto Canvass Frames at home? I have a few ideas like printing them onto my canvass paper and gluing it onto a frame or printing onto cheap A4 and gluing and sealing it on or printing onto iron on t-shirt transfer and ironing it onto the canvass frame.....I was just wondering if anyone has done it themselves yet?
I might google it.......

Fun Photos

Georgia was in her dance show at the local auditorium on Friday night. She had to dance in front of a full house of 900 people!! Scared? Not a bit!!!!!

I wish we had spent longer getting photos but I only grabbed a couple before we left and the light was fading.
