All overcome by a Colour Challenge

I think this is the first time I have ever used a colour challenge for inspiration but Caroline has such lovely photos on the Bubbly Scrumptious site that I couldn't resist.
Plus I had some blue gingam from last months kit that needed using up!! (I also wanted to show off my new blue polka dot tablecloth from B&Q and a matching mushroom thingy from Asda not quite Kath Kidston but a cheaper alternative!)

I think it's a plant decoration but I don't want it getting all dirty so I am keeping it in grannies little vase for now.

This weeks colour challenge is PINK........I hope I have some more spare time as I like a bit of pink now and then!!

Lets get Shabby Challenge 10- A shabby Easter

This months challenge over at Lets get Shabby is: A Shabby Easter" and thats exactly how Easter should be.
It should be candyfloss colours, pale pastels and chocolate, fluffy bunnies and masses of bunting until you are sick, sick, sick of all the sheer fluffiness and can't wait to escape outside into the pure spring air and appreciate the fresh greens and yellows of nature!! Phew!!

I couldn't resist stringing up some bunting again for the title......

I also can't wait to get started on making some more delicious vintage eggs...all I need now is a tree type ornament to hang them from...darn it I saw one in a Charity shop last week and didn't buy it.....drats!!!!!!( I even said to myself at the time.....hmmm I could hang things from that. Thankkgoodness for TK Max we need a little bit more American influence in home decor over here at this time of the year...us Brits just don't do fluffy very well!!

Please pop on over to Lets get Shabby to peruse the delicious delights on display from the Shabby team and to goggle over the wicked prize on offer this month!!
Love and the joys of spring

Quick layout and a long dream.....

This photo is of Ben asleep on his Birthday it's the only one we took all day because he wasn't very well that day and fell asleep on the floor something he very rarely does. Sweet dreams Baby Boy.....

I had a dream last night that I was in a warehouse full of antiques, it wasn't just any warehouse it was like an aeroplane hanger........there were tons of people some in period costumes, others buying items from an auctioneer, wow it was awesome. There were things in it I have never seen in my life, it was stuffed to the rafters and the best bit was I was making a movie so I could just pick and choose whatever I wanted. It had to be authentic Art Deco stuff but boy did I have fun.
I used to have dreams about being in Charity shops packed full with patterned material and vintage clothes and when I wake up from these dreams I always wonder how my mind can imagine and visualise all of those patterns and texutres at once!! Mind you the other day I had a dream where I went to a scrap shop and then onto another only to be disappointed because the second one stocked exactly the same stuff as the first and had the same lady behind the counter not only that I didn't buy anything as it was all tat!! What does that say about my psychy I wonder?

I made a super quick layout yesterday for my Bubbly Funk post as I'd worked an extra the night before and couldn't get a childminder so only had two hours sleep. How I managed to make it with such a blurry head I do not know!!

Love and vivid dreams

No Peeking MUM!!!

My Mother is celebrating a very special birthday this month and I wanted to buy her something lovely for it.

I found these incredible Art Deco matching earings and necklace (costume jewellery) and then had the dilema of how should I post them to get to New Zealand safely.
I couldn't just pop them in a jiffy bag or wrap them in paper so I decided to cover an old Christmas card box and turn it into a box come card, come necklace holder!!

I extremely reluctantly cut into my Graphic 45 papers from Toni, but I figured that Mum deserves a beautiful box more than I need to stroke my papers!! The flower is made with the candle technique and Organza and I fixed them with a vintage pin from a car boot sale.

You can see the rest of it at Bubbly Scrumptious...unless your name is Sylvia and it's your birthday soon!!
Made with love...

Alice in Wonderland release day....eeeeeck!!

I am sooooo excited...I have been dying to see this film since I first found out it was to be released and having seen the trailor I wanted it to be released even sooner...but no...we have had to endure weeks of waiting!!

Finally today is the big day, and in honour of this I have made another Alice in Wonderland themed layout....this was my other idea for Lets get Shabby and then I got carried away with the Queen of Hearts theme and forgot all about Alice and the garden...see what I mean about reading the rules carefully!!

It was when Georgia pointed out that this photo would make a good Alice that it all began to fit together. I already knew that I wanted to use blue and green Prima flowers and use the tea party stickers. I can't remember where they came from I have had them for so long....possibly my mum? Anyway they are perfect!!

You can find my step by step tutorial at Bubbly Scrumptious (here) for the 12x12 doiley punch base paper design.

I love blue and white china my grandmother had plate racks around the breakfast room and in the hallway in her house and it was full of beautiful old blue and white Spode China.....it always reminds me of her:)

It was such a beautifully sunny day today that I took my other layout outside and re-photographed it. I wasn't happy with the one I took last week in the dull rain!!
