First Smile Layout

This was a real quickie! Just like last nights earthquake!!

I found the frame in Boots for 50p its a fridge magnet. It was intended for the Grandparents but never made it that far. I dry brushed the cardstock and embelished around the frame, the paper flowers spoke to me and said "decorate us" so I did, and a bit of doodling around the edges to ground the page and voila it was over in a trifle!!

The trouble with twins....

the trouble with twins is they may look the same but they have different personalities.
Every year I strive for perfection from my Amarylis and this year I succeeded. The bulb flowered and the leaves stayed small and not floppy, unfortunately the bastard twin just rebelled against perfection, however every cloud has a silver lining the bastard twin is actually a triplet (well really a twin in its own right) and has produced another flower head, so we get three for the price of two!!

Bens Altered Tin

This is the CD tin that I pinched from DH, I painted it, crackled it and sealed it with Mod Podge. Using the Basic Grey Papers to line the tin I have glued in the cast of his Hands and Feet (made from air drying clay) and simply put his name on top and sealed with another coat of glue.

Acetate overlay used as an underlay

I struck apon the idea of using this as an underlay after deciding that as an overlay it limits the embellishments. I have seen mini books and things using acetate or laminate but never a full 12x`12. Do you think this is a world first or has someone already beaten me to it? lol
I painted the reverse of the acetate and applied the inked scalloped paper to the back as well. I also painted behind the words BABY to make them stand out and simply matted and layered the rest of the photo and stuck it on top.

PS: Please excuse the sticky finger marks on the table! Kids huh!!!

Challenge page- Sudden Downpour

I love the way I have preserved the memories of what was an insignificant moment in our lives. The best bit was me grabbing the camera and Mark going ballistic and telling me to dry Georgia but she was well trained and stood still whilst the rain dripped off her and I got my one chance at a good shot!!
This page was made for the Paperparadise forum monthly challenge.

New Layouts

My Cake Rocks! This is a double ended statement because it is Georgias Cake but I baked it, so either way it is our cake but "MY" sounded better. The grotty tiles in the background just had to be cut out and once I had done that I thought in for a penny in for a pound and went for it!

Friends was created using a sketch and forcing me to cut up my papers, the picture isn't brilliant quality but this works well for 8.5x11 pages as they are smaller and I think quicker to finish.

What colour Crayon are you?

You are most like:

You are Yellow

The clouds part and the smell of daffodils and daisies fill the air when you are around. Your sunny disposition cheers most, and makes others (the jealous and bitter ones) wish you'd never gotten out of bed.

Take this quiz: Which Crayola Box of 8 Color Are You?

Bens Book

This was made from corrugated cardboard and I painted the edges. The letters are Basic Grey monograms and BG Periphery papers. It measures 3inches, 6inches and 9 inches and was so quick and easy to put together. I also used the woodware flourishes page (.99p from Paperparadise) and covered them.

Natural Beauty

This page has sat half finished for months. I wanted to create a heart around the photo and was struggling to match the shades of brown. Then I had my lightbulb moment and realised brown buttons would introduce loads of shades of brown. Plus it keeps the picture open and not too heavy.

Lindas crochet monster

My wonderfully talented sister taught herself to crochet at some hideously young age. She had to teach herself because Mum didn't know how to do it, even though Mum knits and embroiders. I think she was about 8 and she read the pattern and followed the instructions. Something I have never had the patience to do.

Linda is into making these cool monsters and one arrived in the post for Ben this week, along with some long awaited for crochet flowers for my scrapbooking. Aren't these monsters just gorgeous!

Tag! You're It!!

I have been tagged for the first time ever thanks to Helena, does this make me a serious blogger?

The rules are as follows:

List one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name.
Each fact must begin with that letter
If you don't have a middle name use your maiden name
If you're tagged you need to update your blog with your middle name and answers
At the end of your post you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name
Oh and don't forget you need to leave them a comment and tell them they've been tagged.

By the way I am known by my middle name, my first name is Lucy. (an extra fact for free!)

Here are my fascinating facts!!(not)

R-REDHEAD and proud. It took me years, but now I'm cool with it.

U-UGLY feet, size 8, long toes, would love to wear delicate shoes but it isn't gonna happen.

T-TALKATIVE, as in non-stop, no control over my mouth, can't stand silence I don't know what to do with it!

H-HELPFUL or OPINIONATED it depends which way you look at it, I just can't help myself from telling people useless bits of information/advice about life, love and scrapbooking.

Now for the tricky bit, everyone I know has already been tagged, plus I'm not sure how I go about it so here goes....I better just check their sites to make sure they haven't already been tagged.

Sue has just re-started her blog so here is some homework for you Sue!
Micayla who is scrapping again now she has stopped being sick

Doubly Blessed

For my birthday instead of a card Helena made me this 12x12 page. Alot of hard work went into hand cutting the page and the letters. She made 2 the same and kept one for herself.
I debated over whether it should go in Bens album, Georgias or mine and in the end I put it in mine seeing as it was my birthday pressie. My album only has about 3 pages of me so any half decent photos are a welcome addition. (I keep deleting all nasty photos of me) so it's nice to have a pretty page in my book. I must learn how to do air brushing.......lol

Bens Crafty Aunties

These are the Wednesday Ladies, who having put up with my moaning for 9 months were delighted to see the little tyke last Wednesday. Many thanks to Norma who visited me daily in hospital when I was at my worst. She was the first to see the scan of the baked bean at about 6 weeks old. It feels like a lifetime ago....

Lovely Hand Made Cards

We have received some lovely hand made cards this week. A whole bundle from the gorgeous Wednesday Ladies. It is touching to know how much time and love has gone into producing such beautiful work. Each one is different and showcases the individuals personality and talent. I shall place them in a special box for Ben to admire when he is older. Thank you so much everyone.
I am sending you all a big hug and kiss xox
